Rough Steps

1. Make a scrambled omlet at home
2. Freeze it in a Ziploc bag
3. Place bag in boiling water when you're ready to eat

Detailed Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs (per omelette)

  • 2 tbsp chopped green onions

  • 2-3 tbsp salsa (or more, to taste)

  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese (optional)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional garnishing: peppers, mushrooms, cooked bacon or sausage, etc.

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Bag (at home or at camp):

    • Crack 2 eggs into a Ziploc bag (per omelette).

    • Add green onions, salsa, cheese, and any other desired ingredients (such as peppers, mushrooms, bacon, or spinach).

    • Season with salt and pepper.

    • Seal the Ziploc bag tightly, removing as much air as possible.

  2. Mix the Ingredients:

    • Gently massage the bag with your hands to mix the ingredients together. Make sure the eggs are fully beaten and everything is well combined.

  3. Boil the Omelette:

    • Bring a pot of water to a boil over your camp stove.

    • Once boiling, carefully lower the Ziploc bag into the water.

    • Boil for 10-12 minutes, or until the eggs are fully cooked. You can gently press on the bag to check the consistency of the eggs (they should be firm).

  4. Serve:

    • Once cooked, carefully remove the bag from the water using tongs or a spoon.

    • Open the bag, slide the omelette onto a plate, and enjoy your delicious, no-mess omelette!
